FNSI August...the results

As often happens I went slightly off plan this FNSI, but the lure of finishing the last four rows of my RBTL knitted shawl first of all was too great.

No photos of the finished article yet as I've still got ends to sew in, a hole to fix (!), and I would like to figure out how to wear it (although that may take a while).

Then I got on with unsewing the naughty corner baby quilt.

When I quilted it a few weeks ago this was the result...

Possibly a bit hard to see but puckers and pleats everywhere. I can live with the odd one but this is a mess and it's a gift so I've unpicked the quilting, will re-baste it more securely and then quilt again. I might be able to do some of this on Sunday when I'm supposed to be making curtains.

Now im off to see what everyone else has been up to.

Won't be long and your shawl will be finished.

Good luck with getting the baby quilt unpicked and re-sewn. Don't forget to show us the shawl when finished.

Your shawl looks intriguing. Annoying about the quilting. If the backing fabric is soft/slippy try starching it first. xx

Your shawl looks lovely - hope it doesn't take too long to finish so you can enjoy it. Shame about the quilting but you'll be a lot happier gifting a quilt without the pleats (I would be too!)...good luck with unpicking and re-quilting :-)

Sometimes it feels like one step forward, two steps backwards. Ugh! But when you get that quilting straight, you'll be so much happier.

What a shame having to unpick - I've never heard of a naughty corner quilt....looking forward to seeing the shawl.

I love how much the colour changes in your shawl. Hopefully the quilting goes better the second time x

sorry for the delay in posting but I know you'd be happier with no creases and folds so I'm with you....despite hating the reverse stitching, it will look a million dollars when it's done. And by the way....thanks for joining with me on FNSI for August and Mr RNG happened to pick you out of the group as our August winner!!!! YAAAY. If you contact me with your details, I'll get your prize out in the post. xo sugary hugs Wendy x :o)
